The DR. CAMPBELL organization started in Los Angeles in the late nineteen twenties, when our founder Dr. F.E.Campbell (senior) established an office in the downtown Los Angeles area. From the very start, it was Dr. Campbell's aim to treat those who may not have the means to seek care from other dentists. He established a purpose that is still very much a part of our business today, keep your fees low...do a quality job...work out payments with the patient and you will prosper. And so he did, so that in time he had added additional offices to his original for a total of ten.

Today these ten offices continue to serve the people of Los Angeles , Orange and Santa Barbara counties using the same philosophy as our founder. We still serve those who find it impossible to seek care elsewhere.

Of the $45.2 billion Americans spend on dental care each year, $37.4 billion, or 83%, goes toward basic procedures., Spending on basic dental care is expected to rise 7% a year over the next decade, says the American Dental Association. Baby boomers have a lot to do with it. As they age, these relatively affluent consumers are demanding higher-priced dental products like bridges and crowns. But even with insurance benefits, roughly 40% of Americans didn't see a dentist in the last 12 months, according to the National Health Interview Survey

Century Dental has managed to attract new customers by placing discount coupons in direct mail, and placing spot ads on television.
Century Dental is striving to expand the market of people visiting dentists, not just taking patients from people who already have dentists. Dr. Campbell has incorporated laboratory technicians in every office, allowing Century Dental to provide exceptionally efficient denture services and whitening services.

Whitening services are being offered at discount prices to attract cosmetically conscious patients. These patients appreciate the importance of quality dental care and are very likely to become loyal reliable recall clients.

The company can offer lower prices because we buys our supplies in bulk. With the clout of 10 centers, Dr. Campbell can wrest better prices from manufacturers.

The company also takes over a practice's administrative tasks, so the dentists are freed to spend more time treating patients, and that boosts productivity. The average solo dentists will spend 8 hours a week on administrative responsibilities. In addition, the company hires more dental assistants than do solo practitioners, and that enables its dentists to see more patients. Most of the nation's 153,000 dentists practice alone and have just one dental assistant. By contrast, each Century Dental dentist has two to three assistants. The upshot: Century Dental dentists see an average of 50 patients per week, compared with an industry average of 40.

Many of the people we serve need low fees, and credit to get their work done. Others in these communities receive State assistance to help pay for their basic needs. Our state provides dental care through a Medi-Cal program called Denti-Cal. From its inception we have been a significant provider to this program. The Denti-Cal program provides basic services to retain critical dentition and adequate maintenance for those in need. Dr. Campbell also provides for Healthy Families programs, for those few patients who have this type of state support.

Today, fewer companies provide dental insurance. This fact increases the need for us to provide credit. Even those with insurance need credit to finance their share of the cost, as do pensioners. Offering credit works for us because we have developed the systems necessary to make it successful.

Give your smile the credit it deserves.
